Black obsidian is a felsic igneous rock.  The volcanic glass forms when lava cools quickly with very little crystal growth.  Raw obsidian is extremely sharp, so handling with care is a must! 

Deep black in color & beautiful glossy shine when polished, the soft rock is used a lot to make carvings.

These obsidian bodies give you the coloring and polish that one would hope for.    Your item will be chosen for you, so expect slight variation in color, size, shape, pattern or texture.
