Realgar is a soft stone (1.5-2 on the Mohs scale) that is stunning in color, but can pose a health risk.
Realgar contains arsenic, and therefore should be handled with care. Do no lick or ingest, don't breath in dust if breaking the stone, and always wash hands after handling.
